Hot Fix Release
6.2.20062.1045

Overview

This NetAdvantage® for .NET Hot Fix release contains hot fixes for both ASP.NET and Windows Forms controls.

All included assemblies have been built against the Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 RTM build. You must have the 2.0 RTM build of the framework installed for the product to work.

You can review the list of the specific issues addressed in this release at http://www.infragistics.com/scripts/redirects.aspx?Action=HFD&Versions=6.2.20062

What is a NetAdvantage for .NET Hot Fix Release?

NetAdvantage for .NET Hot Fix releases address issues found after a NetAdvantage Volume release. Each issue is verified fixed by the QA team and the hot fix release is tested for regression issues.

NetAdvantage hot fixes are cumulative. Therefore, the latest hot fix always includes fixes from all previous hot fix releases. These hot fix releases are eventually rolled into the next NetAdvantage Volume release.

Private hot fixes are released only to customers who have reported the issues. Public hot fixes are made available to all customers monthly on the Infragistics website.

While a hot fix release is regression tested, it does not involve a full QA test cycle as would a Volume release. Therefore, we request that you test all aspects of your current project after installing a hot fix.

Installing a NetAdvantage for .NET Hot Fix

Install a NetAdvantage for .NET hot fix as follows:

  1. Run the hot fix installer provided.
Note: If you installed the NetAdvantage AppStylist product using the individual NetAdvantage AppStylist volume release installer (e.g. NetAdvantage_20062_AppStylist.zip), you must run the CLR 1.x hot fix install (e.g. NetAdvantage62CLR1xHotFix.zip) to patch the AppStylist application. Running the CLR 2.0 hot fix install will not patch this product.
  2. Follow the prompts to completion.
  3. Upgrade your project(s) to the installed hot fix version by running the Project Upgrade Utility via the Infragistics start menu. (See <NetAdvantage_install_path>\Project Upgrade Utility\Readme.htm and the NetAdvantage Help for additional information on this utility.)
Note: This step is critical. If not taken, you might be unable to use the NetAdvantage designers and toolset in VS.NET.
  4. Rebuild the upgraded project(s).
Note: For ASP.NET projects, make sure to clear the Temporary Internet Files for your browser prior to rebuilding. This ensures that older JavaScript files are not being cached by your computer. Also, double-check that the hot fix JavaScript files are being used. The easiest way to do this is to run the project in debug mode, open one of the JavaScript files in use from the Running Documents window in Visual Studio 2002 or 2003, or the Script Explorer window in Visual Studio 2005, and view its contents. The version at the top of the file must match the hot fix release version.
  5. Create new tabs in Visual Studio for your NetAdvantage elements by using the Create NetAdvantage Visual Studio Toolbox Tab item in the Infragistics Start menu. (See <NetAdvantage_install_path>\Toolbox Utility\Usage.txt and the NetAdvantage Help for additional information on this utility.)

I have followed the install steps. What next?

After setting up the hot fix as stated above, we do request that you test all aspects of your current project. Simply reply to the hot fix notification email to report any further issues caused by applying and testing this specific hot fix.

Please do not reply back to the hot fix notification email to start new, unrelated issues. New support issues must contain information in a format which enables proper tracking. Therefore, submit such issues via the online Support page at http://www.infragistics.com/scripts/redirects.aspx?ID=SUPPORTISSUE.
